Mealworms are the fastest way to a robin's heart, and in nesting season they matter more than any other food. The Rainshade holds them in a deep polished dish beneath a clear dome that does two jobs: it keeps rain off, and it slides up or down the hanger to set exactly which birds fit underneath.

Drop the dome low and it becomes a small-bird-only zone for robins, tits and wrens; raise it and blackbirds can join. Starlings and pigeons, who would clear a dish in minutes, stay locked out.
