Peanut Feeders
Steel mesh feeders that let birds peck pieces safely, never whole nuts. The classic way to feed the tit flock.

About our peanut feeders
Peanut bird feeders are a fixture of the British garden for good reason: peanuts are dense, high-energy food and the tit family adores them. A proper bird nut feeder uses steel mesh so blue tits, great tits and long-tailed tits peck small pieces through the holes - the safe way to offer peanuts, since whole nuts can choke chicks in nesting season. Mesh feeding also makes birds linger, which means better watching for you. Peanuts are the food squirrels want most, so many of our peanut feeders come caged or pair naturally with a pole baffle. All-steel construction matters here; there is nothing for teeth to chew through. Refill little and often, keep nuts dry, and give the mesh a scrub every couple of weeks. Peanut Feeders - FAQs
Are whole peanuts safe for garden birds?
Only from a mesh feeder. The mesh makes birds take small pieces, which is safe year-round. Never scatter whole peanuts loose in spring and summer, as adults may carry them to chicks that cannot swallow them.
Which birds visit peanut feeders?
Blue tits, great tits and long-tailed tits are the regulars, with house sparrows and greenfinches joining in. It is one of the busiest feeders you can hang in a UK garden.
How do I keep squirrels off peanuts?
Choose a caged peanut feeder or hang the feeder from a pole fitted with a baffle, at least two metres from fences and branches. Peanuts attract squirrels more than any other food, so protection pays for itself quickly.
