Which birds fit through a caged feeder?
Blue tits, great tits, long-tailed tits, goldfinches, chaffinches, house sparrows and wrens all slip through comfortably. Starlings, pigeons, magpies and squirrels are all too big for the gaps.
Do robins use small-bird feeders?
Sometimes - bolder robins learn to hop through cage bars, especially for mealworms. But robins prefer feeding low, so a ground tray or dome dish alongside serves them better.
Will a cage put small birds off?
